An IT RF Business Planner II job is available with the City of Fort Worth Information Technology department. Fort Worth serves as the primary anchor for the North Texas Interoperable Radio Network (NTIRN)—a public safety radio communications system accessed by more than 180 local, state, federal and private entities with more than 40,000 devices. The IT Radio Business Planner II provides information technology business analysis service for the P25 Radio system. The Radio Business Planner II conducts needs analysis, enterprise analysis and preliminary cost/benefits analysis; works as a liaison among technical stakeholders; and provides technical out of the box thinking and solutions for the department to support operations. The Radio Business Planner II must have a high-level technical expertise, to solve complex issues, engineer solutions, and create training material, and technical writings.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Four years of experience in radio/wireless communications including two years of Solution Architecture, Systems Integration, or related field
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Strong general knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G) highly desirable
Strong knowledge of IP networking, cloud architecture, and security highly desirable
Positive attitude with a can-do mentality that enables you to be creative, resourceful and deliver results
Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
