Due to an upcoming retirement, Cass County Electric Cooperative is seeking a full-time Energy Services Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in helping our members use electricity safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while supporting the Cooperative’s load management and energy efficiency programs.
What You’ll Do
As an Energy Services Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and support of load management installations across our service territory. You’ll work directly with Cooperative members and area contractors, providing expert guidance on:
Heating and cooling systems
Off-peak and load management metering
Energy usage, efficiency, and conservation
Appliance energy consumption
Electric rate options and comparisons
You’ll support agricultural, residential, commercial, and industrial members while serving as a trusted technical resource for the Cooperative.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically skilled, and motivated to work both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications include:
Associate’s degree in electrical or electronic technology or a related field
Closely related, progressive work experience may substitute for part of the educational requirement
1–3 years of related work experience
Journeyman Electrician’s license is preferred
HVAC knowledge or experience is preferred
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office 365
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated customer service skills
Ability to understand and apply electric utility terminology, specifications, and codes
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
