Department PPPL EngineeringCategory EngineeringJob Type Full-TimeOverviewThe Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory currently uses two (2) large, stored energy, Motor-Generators, each generator rated at 450 MVA, to supply power to the various experimental loads in support of NSTX-U operations. Each motor-generator (MG) is driven by a 15,000 HP electrical induction motor rated at 13.8 KV. The subsystem for the MG consists of cycloconverters, excitation systems, liquid rheostats, instrumentation and controls, circuit breakers, switchgear, hydraulic and lubrication systems, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers and cooling water systems.The field coil power conversion (FCPC) system consists of multi-megawatt thyri
