Job DescriptionMinneapolis College is seeking a temporary part-time instructor in our Bicycle Assembly and Repair Technician (BIKE) Program. This is an opportunity for a teaching position during Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 academic year that may be renewed for Spring Semester, and subsequent semesters at the discretion of the Dean of the School of Trade Technologies.Dates of employment:Fall Semester 2025 (August 25 ? December 19, 2025)Spring Semester 2026 (January 12 ? April 11, 2026)Available courses in Fall 2025 Semester (15 credits total):BIKE 1000: Introduction to Bicycle Mechanics ? 2 creditsBIKE 1010: Basic Bicycle Mechanics ? 2 creditsBIKE 1020: Bicycle Braking Systems ? 4 creditsBIKE 1030: Bicycle Drivetrain Systems ? 4 creditsBIKE 1040: Ball Bearing Systems ? 3 creditsBIKE Program Features:First only program of its kind in MinnesotaOne of only two such programs in the United StatesConsists of one cohort of 24 studentsEducates students for immediate employment in the bicycle industry in technical positionsStudents learn to assemble all types brands of new bicycles for delivery to retail storesStudents learn to maintain repair all types, brands, ages of bicyclesStudents learn daily seasonal service department operations including implementing managing a repair queue; and estimating material labor needsNational retail bicycle industry support and employer connections through partnership with Bicycle Industry Employers AssociationInstructor Responsibilities:Teach lecture and/or lab course(s) to very diverse student populationCreate/edit instructional materialsAssess student performanceOrganize/maintain instructional lab/equipmentParticipate in department meetingsUtilize campus technology to maintain professional skills connect with faculty, staff studentsSalary Range$43,067 - $71,893 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023 - 2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.Minimum QualificationsPost-secondary diploma or equivalent certificateThree full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in bicycle assembly repairOne year of above work experience is within the last five years (waived if have two years of full-time or equivalent postsecondary teaching experience in bicycle assembly repair within the last five years)Other RequirementCurrent and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.Work Shift Monday ? Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) is a public two-year college located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.
