Position Summary:

• Primarily Works with the security system software to program additional points, troubleshoot existing alarms, points in trouble and controllers that are off line.
• Detects faulty operation of equipment, reports questionable conditions to supervisor; issues work orders to supervisor as necessary.
• Works with the security system software to develop regular reports to management on the status of campus security systems. This includes number of points in alarm and/or bypassed.
• Responsible for minimizing these points.
• Conducts inventory of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Advises management when to reorder stock.
• Responsible for estimating work time, writing up list of appropriate and needed materials, and providing such materials for himself/herself or the group.
• Provides guidance and instruction to craft trainees.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High school/vocational school education or equivalent, plus four years of experience performing maintenance and repair work on security access systems, electrical equipment and circuitry.
• Successful completion of an approved training program or a certified apprenticeship program in Security/Access Systems, plus two years experience and proven competency performing complex and varied repair and maintenance of electronic equipment and circuitry including network communication wiring.
