Job Summary: Performs task without direct supervision, has the ability to lead tasks necessary to assemble cables, subassemblies and/or final assemblies in accordance with drawings, work instructions, work cell designs and shop floor travelers. This position works under general supervision.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assembles parts together as shown on the prints without direct supervision.
Works at different assembly areas as production needs require.
Works on the line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line.
Utilizes basic Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) practices where applicable.
Uses and sets-up machines, such as arbor presses, stripping machines, crimping machines, torques wrenches/drivers, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
Able to use SAP-ME effectively and routinely.
Able to teach others in the Non-conformance (NC) process of SAP-ME.
Able to find correct level BOM’s, Prints, Work Instructions and Reference Documents to support Work Orders.
Writes, or assists in writing, detailed work instructions.
Prints labels for work orders
Performs peer/in-process inspection in accordance with company policies
Ability to train all lower Assembler Levels.
Able to perform soldering functions.
Documents print problems and interacts with the proper people to implement changes
Able to achieve CPI times to complete device builds.
Good overall build performance with minimum errors.
Programming devices as required.
Performs pre-production testing.
Ability to perform First Article inspections.
Ability to lead small production groups/assembly line.
4x10 day shift: M-Th 6am-4:30 pm, cyclical overtime as needed.
Minimum Job Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent, plus three-five years related experience. Some management specific training or education desired. Substantial overall knowledge of all functions within department. Must be able to work on assignments that require considerable judgment and initiative. Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Utilize basic computer programs. Work effectively with others. Apply common sense when carrying out instructions furnished in a written, verbal, or sketch-type formats. Must be pro-active in the execution of daily job functions. Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. PPE required: hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes with steel toe caps, welding helmet, protective clothing, welding shoes and hard hat. Must be a United States citizen, eligible for Secret Security Clearance.
